A floral and horticultural exhibition at the
States Market, Guernsey watercolour 15 x 22in (38 x 56cm). Estimate - 3000-3500 This was originally thought to depict a show at the Royal Horticultural Society's hall in London, based on the evidence of pencil sketches of such a show in the collection of Guernsey Museum and seen on their web site. However, once the work itself was seen in Guernsey the architectural details of the hall above the original flower market were recognised. |
